Bag Borrow or Steal – breach of contract, mislead

I cannot describe how bad Bag Borrow or Steal is. The customer service is so bad it is shocking. I haven’t seen anything like it. I’m an attorney so I’m well aware of contract law. I saw a Chanel bag I liked. I also recently got an email from BBOS saying that they would offer me $412 for my Alexander McQueen bag. I then called their customer service & told them I was waiting for my credit for the McQueen bag so I could use it towards the Chanel bag. A lady called Rachel assured me that I would get the $412 once the inspection of my McQueen bag was done & to simply buy the Chanel bag & they would put $412 onto my card as soon as the McQueen inspection was done. I called 3 times to confirm this & BBOS confirmed it would be done. On this assurance, I purchased the Chanel bag with my credit card thinking they would recredit me. Well it was all a scam. A few days later, after I had purchased the Chanel bag, I called BBOS asking whether they had recredited me the $412 as they said they would. To my utter surprise, they told me that my McQueen bag was not to their liking & they therefore hadn’t recredited anything to my card. It was in total breach of their promise to me. I then asked for the Chanel purchase to be cancelled and I was told that it would take a whole 7 days for the money to even go back on my card. I was mislead, misinformed and I believe the whole thing was a breach of contract. To add insult to injury, the staff were rude, (in particular a lady called Jennifer), unprofessional and did not even offer me credit or any compensation for my loss. I have no idea how this company gets away with these scams and stays in business.

Bag Borrow or Steal – shadyness return policy and overcharging

They are disgusting. they sent me an email with numerous discount codes. I rented 3 bags and my grand total came to 2.28. I checked the credit card statement and noticed that they voided all discounts without contacting me and giving me the option of canceling the order so instead of charging me 2.28 they charged me 26.28. No big deal you say? Well its a huge deal to me how can you just charge me whatever you want to without my approval? You cannot after emailing them and calling they have blocked my email and phone number. I will file a dispute tomorrow after all I have the initial receipt with the total for 2.28. NEVER shop there it’s not a good company besides they’re bags are from 2-3 seasons ago and from what many people say the authenticity of their bags are questionable.

Bag Borrow or Steal – 20% discount

20% discount is a joke! Bag Borrow or Steal had this special offer of joining their special community and getting a 20% discount on my next order. The whole thing seemed like a great deal because I was planning buying two bags – one for myself and another one for my mother. So I made one order and paid the full price. The second order was supposed to have a 20% discount, but when they charged me I saw that nothing was applied and they charged the full price of the product! Bag Borrow or Steal rep said that there was nothing they could do because it was already too late to make any changes.
I’m extremely disappointed with this website!!

Bag Borrow or Steal – worst experience ever

I used this service for the first time. As I haven’t read the reviews before dealing with them, I didn’t know what to expect, but I wanted to give them a shot.
I found two nice bags and ordered them. I wanted for one month. Nothing arrived. Then I called them, no one picked up the phone. I sent them a couple of emails, the result was the same. They keep my money and bags as well. Don’t know who to complain. his website is a rip-off for sure.

Bag Borrow or Steal – they do not describe their products accurately

It’s a shame because they have a nice selection but they do not describe their products accurately, their warehouse/shipping is unreliable and always delayed, they do not communicate well with the customer and in short, it’s too much of a pain in the butt to deal with this company. Go to Yoogiscloset.com or Fashionphile.com and get a better experience. Not to mention BBS charges TOP DOLLAR for their handbags so their prices are not even competitive. STAY AWAY from this website! It’s not worth it, trust me!

Bag Borrow or Steal – pricing and condition of merchandise

Regrettably a negative experience all around. Sold them a brand new Burberry bag with tags worth over $850. I am embarassed to say what I took for it; but to say they got the better end is accurate. Having never done business with them, being a purchaser of high end designer bags and because I was looking for a few that I couldn’t find easily, I took the store credit route.  The credit sat there for months, until finally I spent it.

Got the bag I purchased outright. Had to pay more out of pocket than the credit I had. And I would love it if it were not the filthiest bag I have ever paid this kind of money for. If the bag that they, on the website claim “guaranteed authentic, perfect condition, no exceptions” didn’t have worn piping. On the TOP. Really. Seriously? It looks like flaky black paint around the edges of the top trim. There was some left on the brass. Is this what you tout your “bag repair department?” for the types of bags you carry, I would hope you would do better than that.

But I would be remiss if I failed to mention something else I have noticed. Something I think, as a buyer and not a renter, is pretty important.  And I just want to give a few examples. You might want to double check the guy that works in the “regular price” department. Because, last I checked, I could buy a BRAND NEW Louis Vuitton Alize at my local LV store for $2070.00. And it is the most expensive one. NOT for $2800.00 as you claim the regular price to be. At your 20% off “sale” price, you aren’t doing anyone any favors. Charging them MORE for a used LV than LV themselves charge for a new one? Another example. The cigarette case. By one online brand new at LV.com. Or your “pre owned, ” $265, on sale, was $295 only one left…I am sure there are some that, like the wapity case @ a bargain of $225, are lower and the claimed retail is lower than the actual. I am merely suggesting that you be truthful in your claim.

The customer wants to feel as though they are being treated fairly.  It is easy to feel duped, as it were, by the merchant when you suddenly find that what you think is a deal is suddenly, well, not so much one.

I hate that this was such a bad experience. Between mine and my friends’ closets, we easily cycle through thousands of dollars in handbags and accessories a year and I was hopeful that this would be a positive experience.  My wish is that the company can change and other shoppers can benefit from my experience.

Purchased a bag from Bag Borrow or Steal website and paid some extra for one day delivery. I waited and waited and nothing arrived, so I contacted customer service and asked what was going on and they said that my order was cancelled. When I asked the reason they replied something that made absolutely no sense. They just said that the information I gave them was not complete so they could not deliver my bag. What? I can’t understand why did not they call me! They had my number and the never bothered to call and tell me! Terrible!

Bag Borrow or Steal – ordered a bag

Hello!
I’ve ordered a bag from www.bagborroworsteal.com and received all the necessary confirmations. I also paid for the next day delivery because I needed the bag as soon as possible.
Waited the whole day but nothing arrived so I called Bag Borrow or Steal and asked about my order. They said they were too busy and asked me to call back later because they had something to discuss with me.
When I called for the second time they said that my order was cancelled because my bag was no longer available. They said that I can pick another one and they’ll ship it right away but I refused and asked for a refund. They said that was not a problem and promised I’ll get my money within a few days.
Again – nothing! When I called and spoke to their rep they treated me horribly and were very rude and impolite! All I want is my money back! I need help!

Bag Borrow or Steal – I got a crappy product, they apologized, it was a routine return – but then not really

I rented a bag from them after I was told that there were 9 people ahead of me, but then I received it in 1 week(with specifications of purple/large/gold hardware) and received a worn, plum, medium, incomplete purse. It was missing zipper pulls, the mirror, and nowhere on the bag did it say the brand name. Someone who saw the bag even mentioned that it looked like a fake bag! I contacted the company and they said to return it as soon as possible, which I did. The rental fee was suspended, and I was told that I would be reimbursed for the rental as well as for my monthly membership fee. I was fine with that. I then received a phonecall from the company, as well as emails saying that they needed to talk to me, since the bag that they received was not the bag that was sent. OK…

I sent back the bag that I received, because it looked like it had been run over by a truck/made by a 5 year old in a sweat shop. All of my complaints were documented and my refund processed, but the issue with the return didn’t surface until a week later when “a warehouse manager said that there was a discrepancy.” Does anyone else have issues similar to this one from the same company? This is creepy! I got a crappy product, they apologized, it was a routine return- but then not really!

Bag Borrow or Steal – terrible company!!!

I sent in my Louis Vuitton mini lin Speedy 30 handbag for refurbishment to bag borrow or steal repair services. Jill Griffiths corresponded with me first by email accepting to clean the bag and then a phone conversation where we agreed on a price of $75 to clean the exterior only. When I received my handbag back on 07/30/2012, the handbag was damaged. The bag is 2 shades lighter in color and the fabric of the bag is extremely faded and patchy. The damage is very evident especially at the zipper line and handles where you can see the obvious color contrast of the original color of the bag and the damaged faded color. The color and texture of the fabric have been completely ruined..

I immediately contacted Jill Griffiths and sent her a picture of the zipper line; she responded that she “thought the bag looked more radiant after it was cleaned”|. She did not address the picture I sent to her.. I emailed her back with more before pictures of the bag and she failed to respond to my email, . I emailed her again stating that if she did not offer any solutions, I request a refund of the $75 I paid to have the bag cleaned and to be compensated $400 for the damage done to my bag;. She responded that “her managers and herself are working on a reasonable solution”‘. I waited a week then I emailed her again!. She said that “her managers are still working on a solution and they will get back to me the next day”‘. I waited a few more days then I gave her a call. After I spoke to her, and listened to more excuses, she sent me an email refusing to refund me the money I paid to have the bag cleaned or compensate my for the damages done to my bag. The email is filled with lies. She claims that she told me she did not want to work on the bag because of the condition of the bag. This is a blatant lie. She NEVER expressed any concern about the condition of the bag to me in her email accepting the bag for refurbishment. On the phone, we only corresponded regarding pricing. The email does not address the fact that the color of the bag is now 2 shades lighter than its supposed to be.

I called back and asked to speak to Jill Griffiths; I was forwarded to Rebecca, the customer service manager instead. Rebecca admitted that the bag had been damaged. She said that they “followed their routine method of cleaning and the outcome of the bag is as a result of the type of fabric of the bag.” She said that “regardless of the outcome of the bag they performed a basic exterior cleaning, which is what I asked them to do, so I cannot be refunded for the service or compensated for the damages”. After going around in circles, I told her I was going to file a complaint against them and/or pursue legal action, she offered to refund me the $75 I paid plus tax. I told her this was not good enough as the damaged bag is of no value
